Godiva got an A-

Last night turned into a nightmare. When I got home I did some ironing, then made dinner. After dinner we did a few other things around the house then headed off to find Godiva's school. This is where it got really crazy! I had not discussed directions when we signed her up, so I just printed directions off the internet. No big deal, right? WRONG! We drove about 15 minutes East, way out in the country. There were no signs or anything. We ended up seeing the mailbox w/ the number on it, so we followed this path back into a woods filled w/ NO TRESPASSING signs. Saw 2 deer on our way back, oh and several run down vehicles, an old mattress, and other junk. When we get back in there there is a barn w/ a fenced in area and the gate has a dog statue next to it. It was very creapy so we left and called the lady. It was about 7:15 when she called back and said it was at the humane society on the south side. We were both pretty pissed. I knew we wouldn't make it on time, but she said if we wanted we could go ahead and come and register Godiva and sit in on the last 30 minutes of so. We did that and they even stayed after for about 20 minutes to talk to us, which made us feel a little better.

Through this whole travel around the county, Godiva was so scared. I think she thought we were going to drop her off on the side of the road or something. She just laid her head on our console between us and drooled EVERYWHERE. We don't know what her problem was. She was just acting weird. At least going to this class she will get used to riding in the car, too.

Godiva did pretty well during the class. They want her to be trained to sit and do commands on the left side. We prefer right side, but whatever. They gave us some tups of making her stay on the left side. She was sitting and laying down and shaking. The lady checked her gentle leader and made sure it was fitted correctly. She gave us some tips on walking her w/ the gentle leader, too, so that helped. I think Godiva is a bit of a show off b/c she was minding so well and acting so good. I think part of it was b/c it was something new and she was being challenged the entire time. Overall I think this will be a good thing for her.

Of course this morning she was acting like a holy terror and tormenting Kodi again, but it's not going to happen over night. That's for sure. About Godiva & Kodi not bonding well, the lady said to just let them figure it out amongst themselves and don't seperate them when they do it. That's what they want. Makes perfect sense to me now. When they fought this morning we just closed the bedroom door and listed for a few minutes and they stopped.
